Jolette Barrera Quinceañera Pre-Photoshoot | Downtown Riverside

Jolette’s pre photo session took place in the heart of Downtown Riverside, a location known for its mix of historic architecture and modern urban elements—ideal for creating a diverse and visually strong gallery.

We began the session during golden hour, taking advantage of natural light to achieve soft tones, balanced skin colors, and a timeless look. This time of day is one of the most recommended for outdoor sessions, as it provides consistent and flattering lighting without the harsh shadows of midday sun.

As the session progressed into the evening, we introduced night photography techniques. By using controlled lighting and color gels, we were able to create a more modern and artistic style, adding variety and depth to the final gallery. This approach works especially well in urban environments, where textures, shadows, and ambient light play an important role.

One of the final locations was the Fox Performing Arts Center. Opened in 1929, this historic venue is one of Riverside’s most recognizable landmarks. Its architecture and nighttime lighting make it an excellent backdrop for more cinematic and structured portraits.
